ELREFA-400 Tablets

Composition: Rifaximin 400 mg tablets are a prescription medication used to treat a variety of bacterial infections in the gastrointestinal tract. Here are some of the usages of Rifaximin 400 mg tablets:  

• Traveler's diarrhea: Rifaximin is effective in treating traveler's diarrhea caused by noninvasive strains of Escherichia coli (E. coli).  

• Hepatic encephalopathy: Rifaximin can be used to reduce the risk of recurring episodes of hepatic encephalopathy, a decline in brain function that can occur as a result of severe liver disease.  

• Irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D): Rifaximin may help relieve symptoms of IBS-D such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and bloating.  

Important information about Rifaximin:

• Rifaximin is an antibiotic, and like all antibiotics, it is only effective against bacterial infections. It is not effective against viral infections such as the common cold or flu.  

• Rifaximin should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more or less of it, and do not take it for longer than recommended.

• It is important to complete the full course of Rifaximin, even if you start to feel better after a few days. This will help to prevent the infection from returning.  

• Rifaximin can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, constipation, and headache.
