Composition: Ofloxacin 200 mg and Ornidazole 500 mg

Ofloxacin 200 mg and Ornidazole 500 mg are often prescribed together to treat a variety of bacterial and parasitic infections.

Ofloxacin

  • Class: Fluoroquinolone antibiotic

  • Uses:

    • Bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues

    • Certain sexually transmitted infections (STIs)

    • Typhoid fever

Ornidazole

  • Class: Nitroimidazole antiparasitic and antibacterial agent

  • Uses:

    • Infections caused by anaerobic bacteria (bacteria that can survive without oxygen)

    • Amebiasis (infection caused by amoebas)

    • Trichomoniasis (a sexually transmitted infection)

    • Giardiasis (a parasitic infection of the small intestine)

Combined Uses

When used together, Ofloxacin and Ornidazole can be effective in treating:

  • Mixed infections: Infections caused by both bacteria and parasites.

  • Severe infections: Complex infections that require a broad-spectrum antibiotic and antiparasitic agent.

  • Resistant infections: Infections that are resistant to other antibiotics.
