Conposition:

Telmisartan 40mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg tablets are a combination medication primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

• Combination Medication:

  • This means the tablet contains two active ingredients that work together to lower blood pressure.  

• Active Ingredients and Their Functions:

  • Telmisartan (40mg):

    • It's an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). This medication helps relax blood vessels by blocking the action of a substance in the body that causes them to tighten.  

  • Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5mg):

    • It's a thiazide diuretic (water pill). It helps the kidneys remove excess salt and water from the body, which lowers blood volume and, consequently, blood pressure.
